Breathwork Solo Vs. Facilitated Sessions

Many clients ask me: “Can I do Breathwork on my own?” The answer is absolutely yes - and I encourage you to practice at home between sessions. Your next guided breathwork will be transformative because your body will be more open and trusting of the experience.

But here’s the key: when inner resistance arises - thoughts like “this is too hard”, “is it even working?”, “I don’t like this” - your ego can hijack the experience. With a skilled facilitator holding a safe, anchored space, you can surrender into deeper healing than you likely would alone.

Why Facilitated Breathwork Deepens Your Journey:

Stronger accountability: knowing a facilitator is present helps you stay committed to the practice and stay with the breath even when it gets challenging.

Emotional Support: A facilitator can guide you though discomfort safely and compassionately - offering touch and verbal cues where needed.

Energetic and communal effect: In Group Breathwork Journeys, breathing together synchronizes the nervous system and emotional energy, amplifying the healing power.

Safer for intense Breathwork experiences: Shamanic Breathwork can evoke strong, emotional releases. These are best experienced under expert guidance to avoid potential overwhelm and to integrate safely.

Why Practice Breathwork Solo?

Accessible between sessions: You can reinforce what you’ve learnt at home - helping your body remember and deepen the process.

Cultivate Inner autonomy: Over time, solo practice builds trust in your own breathwork process and intuition.

Convenient and flexible: You can adapt short, gentle breath practices to fit into your day - for stress, clarity or emotional release.

Which Approach is Right For You?

Both approaches take you to a place of healing and release - solo Breathwork is great to create a daily habit to let go of everyday stresses and is easily accessible. But when a profound shift calls, holding space with a facilitator can led to deeper healing and transformation.
